What can I do in the gym to train for hikes?
It's below freezing where I am and I have some health issues that make winter hikes dangerous, but I'd really like to be prepared for spring hikes.
Is the stepmill (the rotating stairs) my best bet? There are also treadmills that go up to 30% incline but I'm not sure what incline to do or if that's even helping.
Right now I do core work (back and abs), leg curls, leg extension, leg press, and a bunch of arm stuff.
