I want to do a solo alpine trek, seeking expert advice

Or rather, I want to do an alpine trek, and I don't have anyone to do it with me, so I'm thinking about doing it alone. I'm going to look into joining an organized group, but also am hoping for some expert advice and guidance on the prospect of going solo. I'm late 50s M, healthy and fit and very active, moderately experienced Sierra backpacker, but I'd expect to do some substantial conditioning hikes in preparation. Here's a few things I'm wondering:

Assuming that I prudently select an appropriate route for a solo novice alpine trekker, is this a reasonably safe endeavor?

I speak only English; would I encounter any significant challenges?

I would hope to meet other friendly solo/group hikers on the trail and at huts, but that sort of thing is not really my strongest suit. I suppose group lodging in bunk rooms probably lends itself to getting to know other people, but what's the general vibe?

What's an important thing about solo alpine trekking that I might not be thinking of?

Any suggestions on good organizers to consider for a group trek that I could join?
