Why is it easier to do the same hike when its colder vs warmer ?

Why is it easier to do the same hike when its colder vs warmer ?
I notice I can go for a lot longer distance when its colder outside without getting tired. When its hot then I tend to drag more and need breaks. When its cold I feel I could go on forever especially on the same trail.

Does anyone have knowledge about this hike and if there is any food stores within the village? I just got into the lottery in June to stay at lodge. Any info will be helpful.
Foot volume in boots

Foot volume in boots
Evening all , I see some excellent Scarpa boots at a great price and I need an upgrade from my no longer waterproof boots. Id guess my foot is probably medium to maybe high foot volume (I’m only learning of this now and not totally sure). The boots are advertised as being most suitable for those with low foot volume. Does that mean I’ll simply need more time to break them in or will they likely be uncomfortable always if my foot volume is not appropriate. Thanks in advance
