Has anyone hiked Stairway to heaven, Dubai? Just a few questions.

Aside from a few travel blogs and video clips on Youtube there seems to be very little information on this hike. Is camping overnight near the summit a good idea or even allowed? If so would the snakes and goats be a big problem? What about crossing the Oman border, is carrying a passport all that is required? And is there a bus to the mountain that runs from from downtown Dubai or is renting a car the best option?
