travel and rhum

I did a 10 mile, decently well trafficked trail this morning/afternoon. It’s in a state park that I go to pretty often. On my way out I came across a guy pissing right off the edge of the trail, facing the woods, but still physically standing on the trail. I stopped and said “Hey man, you should really step at least a few feet into the woods to do that. There are other people out here too.” He cussed me out and told me to mind my business.

Maybe I should have just kept walking and not said anything, but I thought it was inappropriate and just nasty. What do you guys think? What would you have done?
