New Hikers Stupid Question

New Hikers Stupid Question
Hello Everyone,
So I want to start getting into hiking but don't want to be that new hiker that when they encounter more seasoned hikers they get looked at like a total idiot for any reason. Whether it be from clothing, gear, or basic interactions with other hikers. So can you guys give me any tips on what to do or not to do while out hiking? Also If you know any good spots in the Arizona, Queen Creek area it'd be much appreciated.
