Suggest me a thru hike

Suggest me a thru hike

I'm finishing my PhD in earlyish (march – June) 2025. For dumb timing and bureaucracy reasons, I can no longer do the PCT like I had planned to do because I'd only get ,~6 weeks of time off before my viva.
So I'm looking for new fun things to hike! Suggest me a trail (anywhere really, I'm in the UK so I know I will have to travel) that's pretty, takes about 4-6 weeks and is safe for a solo woman.

Happy hiking!

Please give some Tips to not get overwhelmed before a hike starts

Please give some Tips to not get overwhelmed before a hike starts

1 I often find myself in negative frame of mind before starting a hike. This is due to the fact that I couldnt complete a hike 10 years back and people in the group weren't ready to wait for my slow speed. Now I am fitter and started again about a year back but yet the unpleasant memory remains of not being able to complete the hike.

2 what do you people say to yourself during a hard trek and what's your suggestion for endurance and how many breaks are ideal during a hike ?

3 what is some great vegetarian food suggestion for hike ?

Just got AllTrails. I was walking in a remote part of Maine and apparently, the app disconnected and only counted about a third of my walk. Is there any way to add more activity/draw where I walked?

So I was walking in a really remote part of Maine. About a third of a way through my walk, apparently the app disconnected … I only realized after I walked the full loop and returned back to my car. Is there any way to manually add where I walked? It was through a popular trail as well. Or is that not possible?

Need new shoes/boots. Hypermobile, clumsy, flat, wide foot. Rolled my ankle twice this summer.

Need new shoes/boots. Hypermobile, clumsy, flat, wide foot. Rolled my ankle twice this summer.

I (36f) feel I'm especially unfortunate. I lived a very sedative unhealthy life from 18 to 28. I lost 90 kg 6 years ago and my main exercise is hiking. Hiking is so important to me!

My joints are very fragile, but I've avoided major injuries for All of the 6 years I've lived an active lifestyle, but this summer I rolled my ankles twice.

I walked on easy gravel trails both times. So easy terrain, compared to what I'm used to! I am kinda clumsy and often trip or hurt myself bumping into things, but spraining something really worries me and I want to avoid injuries so I can walk as long as possible.

I was wearing my old trusty ECCO Xpedition III Woman GTX and they have been great for 3 years. Felt like I could walk on anything! Mud, rocks you name it.. but now I rolled my ankle twice while hiking in them. They're really beat up and have a lot of milage! Could that be the reason?

Anyway they're totally used up and I need new boots, but the selection is daunting! Where do I start? I really want to treat myself.
