What type of shoes do you recommend for obese people?


What type of shoes do you recommend for obese people?

I walk on concrete, uphill and downhill in the woods (used by forestry cars), every day or two for 4-6 km. What comfortable shoes are recommended for this? Are plain running shoes good?
I have a hiking shoe that I thought was better (this was recommended – bought 2 weeks ago), but 3 days ago it gave me a blister on my heel during a 9 km hike. I don't want to stop walking and I want to do some longer hikes, but I don't know what would be better for a "normal" walk. Because of my weight, would it be more beneficial if it held my ankles? My hiking boots are up to my ankles.
