Ooops – trash etiquette

Ooops – trash etiquette

Ok. Started hiking a few years ago. Late in life but making great discoveries both in nature and with other people (hikers). The hiking community is great. Just watched a new Miranda video. Apparently, I’ve been breaking a trash adequate rule. I usually throw my apple core into the woods when I finish eating an apple. She first used the example of not throwing a banana peel (which I actually get), but LNT includes absolutely everything. Are others following LNT this strictly? If so, what else am I missing? I mean I’m definitely not leaving any paper trash or bottles. My son did spit out gum and I told him he should have put it in a Kleenex or something and then into his pocket. I have noticed A LOT of cans in some places. That really hacks me off. I just wanna make sure I’m truly abiding by LNT. Thank you.

I used to smoke pot when I went hiking , this gave me something to ‘do’ at the top of a mountain , now that I don’t smoke anymore , what do y’all do at the top so you can stay longer ?
