I have a great idea for an app.

I have a great idea for an app.
Before I say what it is, I want to give all of you guys a little bit of context. I’m a 12 year old kid in New Jersey, (yes I’m 12 but please continue to read without this in mind), and I’ve loved nature and mountains. Ever since our family trip a year ago to mount ranier, I’ve wanted to climb Kilimanjaro. My mom is basically me but 40 years old and she loved the idea. She said u had to wait until I was a bit older. The trip was brought up in a conversation tonight. If you live in the US, you might know nj doesn’t have the best hikes. I thought of an app where you choose a famous mountain or hike, and then select a route from it, and from there, it sets daily step goals to simulate the trek. As you work your way through the hike or up the mountain the app will tell you about the different zones you’re in. Like a tundra, rainforest, and many more. I have experience with app making and just wanted some opinions on that idea. As always, thanks for your time to read this.

Car break-ins at local trail parking lot… advice?

Car break-ins at local trail parking lot… advice?
I live in SoCal, and really want to hike the Canyon Falls Trail in the Angeles National Forest. The problem is, people have been reporting multiple car break-ins in the parking lot for the past two weeks on AllTrails.
It’s a really beautiful trail, and it’s on my list of pending adventures. I literally don’t keep anything my car aside from trash, napkins, and my proof of insurance and registration in the glove… but I’m still afraid the thief(s) will smash my window or something. I’m in school currently, I don’t work many hours and money is TIGHT. I simply don’t have the funds for a repair and it would be pretty devastating for me to loose a window or something worse.
How do I decrease my chances of getting broken into? My instinct is to avoid the trail entirely… but for how long? How long should I wait before deciding to give the place a chance?
