Any recommendation for a GPS unit

Any recommendation for a GPS unit
Hey, for the last years i mainly used my phone for navigation and I do not plan on using something else for my primary mode of navigation but as i am often hiking solo I am somewhat afraid of it failing and me getting lost. So I am currently looking for for a backup GPS unit. I know the basics of navigating with maps and a compass but i realy dont like it so it is not realy a option for me.
I am basically looking for something inexpensive and lightweight with the following features.
- screen to display maps
- ability to use preplaned tracks/waypoints
- long battery life
- decent reception/accuracy
I am somewhat interested in a emergancy/SOS function but i recon it comes at a premium.
I tried researcing myself but I was pretty overwhelmed to be honest. Especially since I am not adverse to buying something a little bit older second hand. So I am hoping that you could give me a few tips.
And sorry for my grammar as English is not my first language.

Do you hike in trail runners, hiking shoes, or hiking boots?
Or something else like open toe sandals? Just curious about what everyone uses. Considering going much more light weight and less ankle coverage. Currently I hike in Moabs mids if I'm putting in serious mileage or a barefoot minimalist shoe if it's under 6 or so miles. I'm looking to eventually switch fully to barefoot shoes with no ankle support but just not there yet.
Tried to do a poll but I think it's not allowed on this sub, so comment with your shoe choices please!
Edit: sorry I think I wasn't clear, I was asking what models you're using for which activities
