Post trail Thur-hike depression

Post trail Thur-hike depression

I'm coming up on my 12-year anniversary of an Appalachian trail through hike. I know it's something a lot of people suffer from but are there any suggestions for how to overcome post-trail depression.

It just doesn't seem like this isn't the way we're meant to live our lives. When you have a family and a mortgage and other obligations you can't just keep hiking.

There is just something about the clearness of objectives that I can't seem to overcome.

How to choose a back pack?

How to choose a back pack?

Hi!

In january I'm going to a 1 week hike. And I need a daypack that fits water, snacks, a jacket, cell phone and other small things. The problem is that i'm in Mexico so I have to buy online and I can't look closely or feel the backpacks.
I love Osprey and I think the tempest could be a great option (I'm a small woman) but I don't know if it should be the Tempest 9 or something bigger like Tempest 18 or 20.
Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
Thank you!

What was your most dangerous hike?

What was your most dangerous hike?

I am listening to a great book called "The River of Doubt" by Candice Millard. The book is about a trip Theodore Roosevelt took through the Amazon, and it does great job describing the nature, the dangers, and the strength of human spirit.

So this made me wonder if anyone here did hikes or trips that were similarly dangerous and unforgiving. Anyone tracked through Amazon? Arctic? Share your experiences.
