A mistake was made

Went out on my normal hike this morning usually I do 5 to 7 miles nothing to hard since it’s still hot here in Texas I’m at Government Canyon this morning. I packed my day pack with 1 orange 1 apple salty lime peanuts and 4 litters of water. The hike started off easy I was walking the joe Johnston train 4 miles in 4 back 8 easy money👍🏼.. My dumbass got to the end of the trail and was oh the natural area is open!! Let’s go see!! long story short I ran out of water on mile 10 had to ration my orange and last bit of water.. I got so scared the heat was already up to 98 with an index of 101 never again will I make that mistake.. usually when I go up to that natural area I take my lunch and 5 litters of water..also ill be investing in a uv umbrella now 🤦🏽‍♂️ Be safe out there guys
